  1. South Sound will put on a play for Paws Of War at the Nesconset Gazebo! The community is invited to come out on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m. to enjoy the showtime for a good cause! The event is free admission, but donations are appreciated. There will be food trucks, raffles merchandise, and more! (Nesconset CofC Via Facebook)
  2. St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown may face challenges as the nurses may go on strike. The health workers are currently voting to approve the strike. Results are expected to be released on Friday. The workers are trying to negotiate better wages as their contract with the hospital expired on July 31. According to the Union, the nurses at Siena have the lowest payment in Suffolk. The Smithtown Patch will update readers as more info is released. (Smithtown Patch)
  3. The Kings Park Chamber of Commerce is throwing an End of Summer BBQ Party on Aug. 25 at the Shanahan’s Bar & Grill. The event starts at 6 p.m. at 515 Old Dock Road in Kings Park. For more information, visit Kingsparkli.com. (Kings Park CofC)
