  1. Smithtown School District shared good news this week! The first annual Greg W. Sill Foundation golf event received $60,000 in donations to be invested in scholarships to honor the memory of the Smithtown High School West teacher who passed away unexpectedly in March 2021. (Patch)
  2. Sunday is concert day at the Hoyt Family Farm! The family friendly event is set for Aug. 7, starting at 7 p.m. with the band "Street Fighter" taking up the stage. The Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve is at 200 New Highway in Commack. (Best Things Events)
  3. Free microchips and pet IDs were distributed by nonprofit Paws of War Partners in Nesconset. Over 30 pets received the devices that will help to relocate them in case they get lost.   4. Nonprofit Long Island Cares released a statement showing that food insecurity is higher than last year. According to the food bank records, the number of visitors looking for food between January and June is 43 percent, higher than the previous year. (Patch)
