• Residents wait for answers on Harbor Road reconstruction and dam building in Stony Brook (tbrnewsmedia.com) — Smithtown residents are being asked to join Stony Brook and Head of the Harbor neighbors at a Jan. 8 Brookhaven Town Board meeting to demand answers on the long-delayed Harbor Road rebuild. Since Hurricane Ernest destroyed the road and affected the adjacent dam and Mill Pond in 2024, locals have faced hazardous detours, slower emergency response, and a stalled plan that hinges on the Ward Melville Heritage Organization agreeing to a new culvert-road design.
