- The American Planning Association recognized the Village of Patchogue's revitalized downtown as one of America's four "Great Neighborhoods" noting that a housing stock in the $400,000 to $600,000 range has attracted singles, families and downsizers to the village. (Newsday)
- Governor Hochul announces road work to increase capacity and enhance safety on the Long Island Expressway. Later this fall construction will replace approximately 287 lane miles of pavement on key stretches of the Long Island Expressway in Suffolk County, improving mobility along the commuter artery used by hundreds of thousands of motorists each day travelling between Long Island and New York City. - Ruth's Chris Steak House is coming to Suffolk. One eatery is set to open in the nearby Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, the other is located in Ruth's Chris Steak House. Job applications are open for the Lake Grove location. (Long Island Patch)
