  1. Smithtown Chamber of Commerce announces the SHRED-A-THON! Bring old bills, documents and other papers you would like to dispose of correctly on April 29 at the Smithtown Office at 7 W. Main Street in Smithtown. Attendees are asked to use the parking lot on Manor Road. (Smithtown Chamber of Library)
  2. There will be an Egg Hunt and Festival at Smithtown Sweetbriar today! There will be games and face painting, and kids are welcome to say "hi" to the animals living there.   4. More protection for law enforcement as Long Island joins the Blue Alert System. The national network aims to arrest those who physically assault police officers. The alert is activated whenever that is a threat, and the public can call 911 to inform the issue. The alert was designed to honor the NYPD Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, who were murdered in Brooklyn in 2014. (LI News12)
