- The Town of Smithtown Department of Environment and Waterways, along with the Municipal Services Facility and the Department of Public Safety, will host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection at the Smithtown Municipal Services Facility on Saturday, July 9. The event is for Smithtown residents only and will be held at 85 Old Northport Road in Kings Park at 7 a.m. (TBR News Media)
- No registration is required to get the "Take and Make- Kidtivities" on Tuesday, July 5, at the Smithtown Public Library- Nesconset Building. Packs are available each first Tuesday of the month for kiddos of all ages. (Smithtown Library)
- Cook it up at the Smithtown Historical Society on Tuesday, July 12, with the "Cooking with the Stars- Italian Night." Chefs Marco Pellegrini and Sabrina Vallorini will be on post to teach culinary techniques and give out something sweet! Tickets are $35 per person. - Business owners in New York have a lot to think about this summer. The state Legislature has passed a law that establishments will decide if armed customers are welcome inside the stores. A sign must be placed in the window if the business allows it. The new law was signed by governor Kathy Hochul and will be affected on Sept. 1. (News12)
