1. Historically Black colleges and universities, or HBCUs are ramping up thier recruitment effort at some LI high schools. A visit from LeMoyne-Owen is one of recent attempts by Long Island school districts and community organizations to give students an option that many had not known about or considered. (Newsday)
2. Free admission on Halloween to the Vanderbilt Museum for First Responders and their families! Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum, 180 Little Neck Road, Centerport wants to thank First Responders by offering them free general admission on Halloween.
