  1. The Town of Smithtown will host its Household Hazardous Waste Day at the Collection event on April 22 at the Smithtown Municipal Services Facility in Kings Park. This event is for Smithtown Township residents only. This year, attendees who dispose of propane tanks or mercury-containing devices earn a $5-dollar Home Depot gift card! (Smithtown GOV.)
  2. On April 15, 1912, the RMS Titanic sank in the North Atlantic Ocean with 2,240 passengers and crew on board. The Smithtown Public Library-Nesconset Building is hosting the "Titanic Tea Time" on Saturday, April 22 at 1 p.m. to share tales about one of the most famous ships in history.   3. The Smithtown Bulls Senior Center pool tournaments were a success! Residents of nearby communities stopped by to compete friendly against the center's members.   5. Stony Brook students and staff are voicing protests against the new parking fee plan presented by Stony Brook University. Officials said the money goes towards parking lot improvements and maintenance. However, protesters said they don't want to be the ones fixing a deficit that state grants should cover.
