- Serious injury in dirt bike crash in Ronkonkoma. Christopher Schmidt was riding a dirt bike at 10th Street Motocross when he rode his bike over a ramp and his rear tire struck Michael Morelle, who was picking up his bike, in the face. Schmidt, 13, of Huntington, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. (smithtownmatters.com)
