  1. The Wonderland Midway Corp. Carnival is coming to the Smith Haven Mall parking lot on May 24-29! The carnival is a family-owned company based in Brooklyn and features rides, food vendors, games, and more! (Smithtown Gov.)
  2. May is here, and there will be many parades in Smithtown to celebrate Memorial Day 2023. The Smithtown Fire Department Parade is on Monday, May 29, at noon on the corner of Singer Lane and Main Street in Smithtown. Three VFW posts in the neighborhood will be holding parades as well.   3. A local developer proposed the construction of townhouses for renters 55 and older in Commack. The development, Sutton Landing, is planned to be an 86 upscale condominium with an investment of $58 million. Unity rents are estimated at $4,000 per month. (Subscription: Newsday)
  4. A Memorial Day Service is scheduled at The Commack United Methodist Church on May 28 at 9 a.m. The service honors those who lost their lives while serving in the military. (Smithtown Matters)

  • Patch: "Guests from NYU-LI hospital visited kindergarten students at Smithtown Elementary on Tuesday to impart safety tips, the Smithtown Central School District announced." (Smithtown Patch)
  • Smithtown Sweetbriar is hosting an Outdoor Thrift Garage Sale on Saturday, May 6. The event will be held in the parking lot with significant findings of household items. Visitors can stop by between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to support the center's wildlife. (Sweetbriar Center)
  • Save May 13 for the Spring Farm Festival at the Smithtown Historical Society. There will be a lot of activities for children, plus food trucks and local vendors from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person. (Smithtown Historical Society)
