- Smithtown Department of Public Safety: "Reminder: Densification Inc. has started dynamic soil compaction on part of the site of the old Smithtown Concrete (CarMax). This process involves continuously dropping a 16 ton weight onto the ground from a crane. While you may feel ground vibrations in the area around the site, it is not dangerous and the noise level generated is not expected to be any louder than the work that is taking place there now. This process is expected to take 3 weeks. Please share this information with your friends and neighbors that may not follow us on Facebook." (Facebook)
- Sweetbriar Nature Center: "Love at first sight! Today we received a new patient, transferred all the way from NYC. The #wildbirdfund is the only rehab center in Manhattan and we help each other out when ever possible. They had a tiny goldfinch fledgling that needed a friend to be released with and luckily we had a single goldfinch that needed a partner too!" (Facebook)
- Smithtown Historical Society: "Today's feature for our Adopt-An-Animal spotlight is Rebel! Rebel is a Golden Laced Wyandotte who can lay up to 200 eggs annually. She can often be seen leading her chicken girl gang into mischief." (Facebook)
