- “Kings Park Rocks” Summer Concert kicks off on Aug. 10! The music starts at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Lot on Main Street. There will be local bands playing the best of the 70s! Other attractions include raffles, food vendors, and more. (Kings Park Chamber Of Commerce)
- The Smithtown Historical Society launched an app that will bring four historic colonialists to life through a virtual tour! The interactive experience will lead users to navigate the new 1776AR app to explore local history while virtually visiting the society's building on East Main Street. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- The Smithtown Public Library is screening "The Lost King" movie on its next Thursday's Movie of the Week session. The event starts at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 10. Registration can be made here. (SmithLib)
- On Sunday, two people were injured in a boat explosion in Smithtown Bay. Police said the sailboat was traveling from the Sunken Meadow State Park to the Stony Brook Marina when the explosion occurred with four passengers on board. One person was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. (Smithtown Matters)

- Smithtown Performing Arts Center is a 90-year-old building representing so much for many in the community. Over $500,000 was invested in interior renovations in the past year in which LED lights were installed, new seats were placed, and a 'facelift' in several areas in the theater, plus plumbing, a new AC system, and so on! However, the restoration is far from ending. There is a plan to improve the exterior of the building. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
