Obituary: Anita Crudele, Of Smithtown, Dies At 84

The longtime local resident passed away on Monday.

Anita Theresa Crudele (nee Mastroianni), a 40-year Smithtown resident, passed away on Monday, June 25. She was 84.

Anita was born on August 17, 1933 in the Bronx to John and Margaret Mastroianni.

A proud alumna of the School of Industrial Art in NYC, she was the cherished wife of the late Gerardo “Jerry” Crudele, of whom she adored, for 59 years.

Devoted and proud mother of Gerard (Denise), Doreen Emburey (Bill) and Michael (Nancy). Beloved grandmother of Lauren (Nicholas Semertzides), Katie (Christopher Ferrara), Beth, Courtney, Alexis, Taylor, Morgan, Jayden, Juliana, and Jackson – all of whom she loved beyond measure.

She is also survived by many treasured cousins and friends – as well as her beloved Chihuahua, Petie.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 27 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday, June 28 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Commack Abbey Inc. on 96 Commack Road in Commack.

A funeral service will be held Friday, June 29 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Smithtown.

Interment will take place at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice and MS Society.
