- There will be music under the stars on Saturday, May 20, at Celebrate Park in St. James! Singer Paige Patterson hosts a free concert at 6 p.m. featuring the American Songbook with classic and contemporary hits. Hope to see you there! (Smithtown Patch)
- Smithtown Town Supervisor Ed Wehrheim is working on raising town officials' salaries. The proposal includes a raise of 22 percent for himself and 16.9 percent for the Town's Public Information Officer, Nicole Garguilo. A tentative budget of $126.1 million will be invested in town park maintenance and roads. If these plans are approved, residents will have a 2.08 percent increase in property taxes. - Police confirmed that two Smithtown residents were killed in a single-car crash on Ocean Parkway. The accident happened on Sunday morning. Police are investigating what caused the car to leave the roadway. Eyewitnesses are asked to contact 631-756-3300. (News 12 Long Island)
- The Smithtown Central School District released the 2023-24 proposed budget details. The proposed $280,642,272 budget suggests an increase of 4.8 percent if compared to last year.
