  1. Smithtown community members are hoping to purchase the Smithtown Theatre located on 2 East Main Street to ensure it is not torn down. A GoFundMe created for the Smithtown Performing Arts Center received $9,435 in donations as of Thursday, Sept. 16, with a goal of raising $400,000. (Daily Voice)
  2. Suffolk: 16 fire departments have responded to what was described as a “still very active” fire. Fire departments, including Smithtown, responded in Setauket Tuesday morning where a barn with solar panels was burning. Fire officials were not aware of any animals that may have been inside the structure. (News 12 Long Island)
  3. Smithtown restaurant that specializes in Cuban cuisine offers guests a variety of dishes including Cuban steak, filet mignon, and paella. Cafe Havana also serves a number of cocktails, including different flavors of mojitos and margaritas. Some online users have shouted out the restaurant's passion fruit mojitos. (Daily Voice)
