- Smithtown Sill Food Pantry is named after history teacher Greg Sill, who passed away in March 2021. The memorial fund "Be the coffee bean" was created by his wife in his memory and raised $64,000 in funds. The pantry is located at Smithtown High School West, at 100 Central Road in Smithtown, and opens every Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. (Smithtown Patch)
- A resident was attacked by two men on her driveaway on Grandview Lane in Smithtown. The woman had her personal belongings, including checks and credit cards, stolen at gunpoint. She was able to run to the street, and no injuries were reported. Police are asking for the public's help to identify and arrest the suspects. (Smithtown Patch)
- Wai Law runs a 320-plus-mile around Long Island to raise funds for Parkinson's disease research. Law started his run on July 22 at Stony Brook University and will run to Queens before returning to the university. He aims to raise $32,000 and donate it to two programs at Stony Brook University. - Multiple pizzerias in the Town of Smithtown have come together with the Town of Smithtown Horizons Counseling and Education Center and Smithtown Youth Bureau to prevent underage drinking.
