Smithtown Agenda: Live Concerts, Grease and Happy Clam Show

Don't miss out on what's happening in Smithtown area this weekend: July 26- 28.

With one month of summer down, one to go, head outdoors to enjoy one of the free summer concerts or chill out in the air conditioning with a showing of Grease.Β

Kids

  • Smithtown Recreation Program offers a pre-school readiness program Β for children ages 18 months - 5 years, participate with a caregiver on Friday.

  • The Happy Clam Show is an interactive music show for preschoolers and their families with musical games, role playing, parachute play and more. Laugh yourself silly all while tuckering out the kids with a high energy show at Whole Foods in Lake Grove, Β Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Live Music

  • Enjoy live music outdoors on the lawn of the Smithtown Public Library at 8 p.m. on Thursday nights. The Rotary Clubs of Smithtown and Smithtown-Sunrise will be collecting non-perishable food for local food pantries.

  • Aaah, those summer nights. Catch a performance of Grease this weekend at the Smithtown Theater.

  • Join in for the first annual 1/4 Mile of Quarters for Autism Fundraiser, sponsored by The Little Way of St. Therese Foundation. Β From now until July 27th the will be collecting quarters that will be laid unto a large puzzle piece symbolic of the puzzle of autism. Β To completely fill this puzzle piece it will take 1/4 mile of quarters. Β Proceeds to benefit The Music Academy For Special Learners. This is a family event and welcomes all children to help with the laying of the quarters. Β There will be refreshments and raffles. St. Therese Shrine 18 Balboa Drive Kings Park

  • The Suffolk County Kennel Club hosts its sixth annual full day of AKC Β Β Canine Activities, Sunday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m at the St. Johnland Nursing Center. Β Visitors may enjoy all-breed conformation competitions, agilitiy and rally demonstrations, grooming and handling sessions, canine good citizen testing, and the opportunity to speak with breeders and exhibitors at special β€œMeet the Breed” booths. Β Β Parking and admission are free; Β donations are appreciated. Β Family dogs attending must be over three months of age, current on vaccinations, and supervised on non-extender leashes no longer than six feet. Β

    • Louis Del Prete, a talented DJ, musician and dance instructor will teach the merengue and provide music for ballroom and Latin dancing at Friday’s Musical Moments in Kings Park. Fun starts at Russ Savatt Park on Main Street in Kings Park Β at 7:30 p.m.

    Farmers Market

    • The Kings Park Farmers Market is held on Sunday from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. in the municipal parking lot across from the firehouse on Main Street.     • The Hoyt Farm Summer Concert Series continues this weekend. Liverpool Shuffle, a Beatles tribute band will perform Sunday at 7 p.m. Hoyt Farm is located at 200 New Hwy., Commack.

    • Enjoy live music and entertainment this weekend at Perfecto Mundo in the Northgate Shopping Center (1141-1 Jericho Tpke., Commack). See Russ Seeger perform Saturday at 8 p.m. and Joe Perricone, The Other Shoe Friday at 7:30 p.m. Locals can also have their portraits painted on Sunday at the restaurant from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.: $40 for a small portrait, $60 for a large portrait.

    • July 25 is Trivia Thursday at Jackson’s Restaurant (6005 Jericho Tpk., Commack). Play free, from the comfort of your own table or bar stool and win free stuff. Games begin at 8 p.m.

    Fairs & Festivals

    • Visit the Nesconset Farmers Market. Open every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., through Nov. 16, residents can come down to the shopping center at Nesconset Plaza, 127 Smithtown Blvd., for farm-fresh fruits, veggies and homemade goods.

    Live Music

    • When it comes to al fresco dining this summer, Blend Wine and Tapas is the place to be. Live music fills the outdoor patio Thursday through Saturday at the restaurant, located at 321 Nesconset Hwy., in Hauppauge. This weekend, features Norman Vincent on Thursday, Erin Chase on Friday and StarStruck on Saturday.
