- June 14, Flag Day, a National Day of Observance, was celebrated by fifth grade students at Smithtown Elementary School by leading everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The principal discussed the importance of Flag Day and students' heritage. Then students sang “My Country Tis of Thee” and “This Land Is Your Land.” (Smithtown Matters)
- Police said Susan Charan, 51, Hicksville, was arrested and charged with DWI after she drove her Ford Expedition eastbound in the westbound lanes of Jericho Turnpike — into oncoming traffic in Commack. A police officer in a marked police car drove in front of her and slowed her vehicle down to a stop, once out of the car, they saw that she was intoxicated. She received multiple summonses and her car was impounded. (Smithtown Matters)

- We know the second prize, $1 million Powerball ticket, sold in Deer Park, now we learn that the third prize Powerball ticket, worth $50,000, sold at Pidgeon Hill Wine & Spirits on East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station. (Patch)
- Police said Tuesday morning, at 9:45 a.m., 14 children, ages six and seven, were in a blow-up slide in Wyandanch Park on Mount Avenue when the slide tipped over, injuring five. (WABC-TV)
