  1. Mother's Day is right around the corner, so make your reservations early! Remember to shop local, many of our Smithtown restaurants offer brunch or dinner, reservations may fill up quickly!   2. It's here! Spring and Long Island Restaurant Week! More than 80 restaurants will participate across the island. The special prix fixe menus run from Sunday to Sunday, April 24 to May 1.   3. A good Samaritan witnessed a woman leaving the scene of a crash that seriously injured a man in Holbrook Thursday night. She alerted police after following the woman to her home, Suffolk cops said. (Patch)
  4. Stop & Shop will close their store in Islandia, located at 1730 Veterans Memorial Highway, next month due to underperformance, according to Stefanie Shuman, spokeswoman for Stop & Shop. The 69,000-square-foot supermarket has been there for more than two decades, the grocery chain said. The store will close May 12. (Patch)
