- On Thursday evening, "Paul Decembre, 23, of Greenlawn, was riding a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle when he collided with a 2019 Honda Accord that was leaving the parking lot in front of 402 Larkfield Road" in East Northport, police said. Decembre was pronounced dead at Huntington Hospital. (Patch)
- Part of a civic-oriented technology project, Stony Brook University students created an interactive tour of St. John's Episcopal Church, circa 1765, in Oakdale to help boost membership at the church. Visitors can take a virtual tour of the church, grounds and graveyard and hear stories of those buried through the voices of living history actors as they peruse the graveyard's headstones. - The 154th Belmont Stakes returns Saturday, June 11. Gates opens at 9 a.m. The event will feature performances by DJ Pauly D, Sal "The Voice" Valentinetti and Black Tie Brass. Tickets start at $40; Belmont Park, Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont. (belmontstakes.com)
- The 32nd annual LI Pride celebration is taking place in Farmingdale this Sunday. LI Pride parade, concert and festival will be held from noon to 6 p.m. in downtown Farmingdale. (News 12 Long Island)
- Check out the free fireworks display at the Bald Hill Amphitheater on Monday, July 4. The family-friendly event will offer live music, local food, and Grucci fireworks! The event festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. the fireworks start at 9:15 p.m. (Patch)
