  1. The town announced that Joseph Arico, Town of Smithtown director of parks, will receive the 2022 Partner in History Award. The Smithtown Historical Society selected Arico for the award which will be given to him at the annual Heritage Ball gala this fall. (Patch)
  2. One second-prize ticket for the June 13 Powerball drawing worth $1 million was sold in Deer Park, according to the New York Lottery. Some lucky person who bought the ticket at Deer Hills Service LLC, located at 1985 Deer Park Ave., will receive a whole lot of money! (Subscription: Newsday)
  3. Got an old phone that you are willing to donate for Suffolk County’s most vulnerable residents? Sheriff Toulon's Office collected more than 60 cell phones that will be shipped to "the 911 Cell Phone Bank in Ocala, Florida," once there, all information will be wiped clean and the phones reprogrammed "for use by victims of domestic violence, senior citizens, and victim services agencies." Reuse is the best form of recycling, so dig through your desk drawers to see if you have an old phone to donate. (LongIsland.com)
  4. Saturday, the Hauppauge Fire Department announced that Stephen Feron, 49, a former chief with the department, died while conducting water rescue drills with the Suffolk County Urban Search and Rescue Team. Feron's dad also served as chief from 1985 to 1988, officials said. (Daily Voice)
