Here are the top stories today in Smithtown:

1. Two Bank Accounts Opened After ID Theft. Identity theft (first-degree) was reported on Winslow Lane in Smithtown. Someone stole a woman's identity and opened two bank accounts. (Smithtown Patch)
2. National Weather Service confirms a tornado struck East Islip. After the storm, the NWS confirmed a tornado had touched down in Woodmere in Nassau County, and just today they confirmed one formed in East Islip, too. (Greater Long Island)
3. "White Christmas" opens at The John W. Engeman Theater in Northport. This family classic features beloved songs by Irving Berlin including "Blue Skies," "I Love A Piano," "How Deep Is The Ocean" and the perennial favorite, "White Christmas." "White Christmas" is an uplifting musical and a perfect way to spend holiday time with your loved ones. Performances run through Sunday, Jan. 2. (Broadway World)
