- Police arrested a 19-year-old man from Hauppauge for throwing rocks at two buses in the Smithtown area. The first incident was reported at 8:30 a.m. in Nesconset on April 16. The bus driver said a stone smashed the windshield while he was behind the wheel. An hour later, the same thing happened at Route 111 in the Village of the Branch. (Smithtown Matters)
- Kings Park school district welcomes 12 tenured teachers. The educators were recognized in the last BOE meeting after accomplishing the three/four years of the probationary period following being officially hired by the district. (Smithtown Matters)
