1. Police arrested a 19-year-old man from Hauppauge for throwing rocks at two buses in the Smithtown area. The first incident was reported at 8:30 a.m. in Nesconset on April 16. The bus driver said a stone smashed the windshield while he was behind the wheel. An hour later, the same thing happened at Route 111 in the Village of the Branch. (Smithtown Matters)
2. Kings Park school district welcomes 12 tenured teachers. The educators were recognized in the last BOE meeting after accomplishing the three/four years of the probationary period following being officially hired by the district. (Smithtown Matters)
