Smithtown Police Blotter: Car Tires Slashed
ALSO: A driver was sideswiped by the driver of another vehicle, who then fled the scene, police say.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- Jan. 6: Operator leave scene of property damage accident was reported on Jericho Turnpike in Smithtown at 6:30 p.m. A driver sideswiped a fellow driver's vehicle and then drove away in an unknown direction, police said.
- Jan. 6: Criminal mischief (intent to damage property) was reported at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove at 8 p.m. Someone was shopping at Smith Haven Mall when someone else slashed the tires of their 2020 Toyota parked in the parking lot, police said.
