Smithtown Police Blotter: Fentanyl Sold; Drugs Swiped From Costco
ALSO: Trio uses counterfeit money in Winnebago purchase; altered checks scam; and tires stolen off vehicle at dealership, police say.
SMITHTOWN, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Smithtown area from May 26 through June 1.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- May 30: Edward Haynes, 65, of Coram, stole drugs from Costco on Middle Country Road in Nesconset on March 28, police said. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny: value of property more than $1,000, police said.
- May 28: Jerry Plaisir, 25, of Selden, was accused of selling fentanyl sometime between April 22 and May 6, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance: narcotic drug, police said.
Incidents
- May 31: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Legion Drive in Smithtown at 1:15 p.m. Three people were buying a Winnebago vehicle from someone, and they used counterfeit money to pay for the vehicle, police said.
- May 31: Grand larceny (third-degree) and forgery (second-degree) were reported on Jericho Turnpike in Smithtown at 11:44 a.m. Someone altered company checks and then used the altered checks to make additional payroll deposits to themselves, police said.
- May 27: Grand larceny (third-degree) and auto-stripping (third-degree) were reported on Smithtown Bypass in Smithtown at 12:02 p.m. Somebody stole four tires off of a 2025 GMC truck that was parked at King O'Rourke Buick GMC in Smithtown, police said.
