Smithtown Police Blotter: Woman Bites Macy's Employee In Robbery

ALSO: Two men stole $3,900 worth of cable reels in a burglary, police say.

SMITHTOWN, NY β€” Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Smithtown area from Sept. 2 through Sept. 8.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Sept. 5: Alicia Conroy, 40, of Selden, stole property worth more than $1,400 from Macy's at Smith Haven Mall around 8:15 p.m. Sept. 6, police said. Conroy bit an employee, causing the employee an injury and bleeding that required medical attention, police said. She was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery: causes physical injury.

Incidents

  • Sept. 6: Grand larceny (third-degree) and burglary (third-degree) were reported on Smithtown Bypass in Smithtown at 6:03 a.m. Two men entered A&C Electrical Supply by breaking the lock of a large storage warehouse with a saw and bolt cutters, police said. The men stole three cable reels, police said. The cable reels were valued at more than $3,900, police said.
  • Sept. 3: Grand larceny (fourth-degree: getting property by extortion) was reported on Huber Place in St. James at 11:33 a.m. Someone threatened another person with violence, police said.
