- Smithtown Public Library will screen "The Whale" in the next session of its Friday Movie Matinee on Friday, May 26. The movie starts at 2 p.m. Registrations can be made here. (Smithtown Chronicle)
- The Smithtown Patch highlights all the work that Erin Fels, a Smithtown High School West junior, is doing to organize the next Relay For Life event in the community. - Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown welcomes many animals who need help this season. The rehabilitation center takes care of wildlife and significantly injured animals. - A Butterfly and Bird Festival is heading to Smithtown on June 10. The fest celebrates the grand opening of the Butterfly Vivarium at the Sweetbriar Center. Tickets are $25 per car. The event is rain or shine. For more information, visit here. (LongIsland.com)
- Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is to open a location in Commack. Based in Louisiana, the restaurant chain announced plans to open three locations on Long Island in 2025. The eatery wants to invest in the New York market with the first spot opening on Times Square this summer and following steps to Commack, Hauppauge, and East Meadow. (Patch)
- Smithtown Performing Arts Center: "One week away! Please join us Tuesday, May 30 at the theater for auditions for our summer show 'Seussical Jr.' which will be performed outside at The Smithtown Historical Society.
