Smithtown Students Celebrate Cultures Across The World

SMITHTOWN, NY — The Mt. Pleasant Elementary school community came together for its Cultures Around the World Night, hosted by the school PTA, the Smithtown Central School District announced.
"Families had the opportunity to explore and celebrate the incredible diversity that makes our community so special," the district wrote.
From vibrant performances to delicious international cuisine, interactive displays, and creative cultural activities, students and families embarked on a journey across continents….all without leaving the school.

The night featured incredible performances, including the Taiko Drums of Japan, Ecuadorian folk dances by Allpaymanta Yuyarikuna, Greek traditional dances by St. Paraskevi Greek School, and a lively Tarantella dance by the Curry & Toscano families.
"It was an evening filled with learning and appreciation for traditions from around the globe," the district wrote.
