- Ten Smithtown Department of Public Safety members were honored during the Smithtown Public Safety Awards Ceremony on May 18. In addition, the town welcomed new members that will serve the community. The event highlighted the work of Park Ranger Christopher Gonzalez, who arrested a suspect for driving while intoxicated in the neighborhood. (Smithtown Gov.)
- The Wonderland Midway Corp. Carnival will be at the Smith Haven Mall parking lot until May 29. The carnival is a family-owned company based in Brooklyn and features rides, food vendors, games, and more! (Smithtown Gov.)
- Many parades are scheduled in Smithtown to celebrate Memorial Day 2023. The Smithtown Fire Department Parade is on Monday, May 29, at noon on the corner of Singer Lane and Main Street in Smithtown. - A Memorial Day Service is scheduled at The Commack United Methodist Church on May 28 at 9 a.m. The service honors those who lost their lives while serving in the military. (Smithtown Matters)
