- Teachers Federal Credit Union opens a new location in Smithtown. A ribbon-cutting ceremony gathered Smithtown and St. James Chamber of Commerce members and town officials at 47 Route 111 in Smithtown. A donation of $5,000 was given to the Beacon House to celebrate the grand opening. (Smithtown Chronicle)
- Dogwood Elementary School in Smithtown organized a unique night in honor of police officers that work in the neighborhood. The Yearly 'Police Appreciation Day' highlights officers who have family members in the school. Students welcomed the "blue crew" with appreciation banners to thank them for their service.
