- Smithtown Sweetbriar is hosting an Outdoor Thrift Garage Sale on Saturday, May 6. The event will be held in the parking lot with significant findings of household items. Visitors can stop by between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to support the center's wildlife. (Sweetbriar Center)
- A senior citizen woman from Setauket lost over $650,000 in an elder scam. The caller said he was an FBI agent trying to help because her bank account was compromised. Luckily, police could recover $140,000. (Patch)
