Zoning Approved For 1st Wegmans On Long Island: Report

LAKE GROVE, NY — Wegmans secured its zoning approvals from the Village of Lake Grove, paving the way for the first-ever Long Island location, Long Island Business News reported.

Plans for Wegmans to build a 100,000-square-foot building on 8.5 acres at the DSW Plaza shopping center on Middle Country Road were green lit, according to Long Island Business News.

Wegmans anticipates a 2024 opening. The supermarket chain was founded in Rochester in 1916. It has since opened 110 stores.
