3-Car Crash In Hamptons Leads To DWI Charge: Police
2 people suffered minor injuries in the crash, which took place Saturday afternoon, police say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Southampton man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a three-car crash Saturday afternoon, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the crash took place at about 2:38 p.m. on North Sea Road near Parrish Road in Southampton. An investigation by officers at the scene found that one driver, Steven M. Begg, 33, was operating his vehicle while intoxicated, police said.
He was arrested at the scene and then transported to Southampton Town Police headquarters for processing, police said. Begg was charged with misdemeanor DWI; he was held overnight for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.

Two passengers in the other vehicles had minor injuries and were treated at the scene, police said.
