Auditions Tonight in Southampton

Your guide to what's happening in the community.

Good morning, Southampton.

— A service will be held today for Wesley Carrion, the 90-year-old Sag Harbor man who died in a house fire last week. Carrion, a World War II veteran, was a major when he retired from the Army. His family is planning a memorial service. We'll let you know when that's scheduled.

— Auditions are being held tonight. The MFA in Theatre program at Stony Brook Southampton is seeking actors from our community to participate in the exploration of new and existing material with our graduate level directors and playwrights. The audition call will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Avram Theatre, Fine Arts building at Stony Brook Southampton.

— Going to the Hamptons International Film Festival this weekend? Consider blogging about the films you see. Get your blog set up ahead of time.

— Check out photos from the Bridgehampton Road Rally on Saturday — lots of cool cars. Have any favorites?

— Coming up on Monday, the Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt will present a special program “Goodbye Lawn, Hello Bio-diverse Plantings,” featuring Suzanne Ruggles, who runs The Barefoot Gardener in Westhampton. The talk takes place at the Long Pond Greenbelt Nature Center at 1061 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
