Bishop's Pond Annexation to Top Village Board Meeting
The Southampton village Board will meet at 6:00 p.m.

A plan to annex a portion of a 64-unit condominium complex that is being constructed on Bishops Lane will be at the top of the Southampton Village's Board agenda at its meeting, which will be held at 6:00 p.m. at village hall.
According to Village Administrator Stephen Funsch, the board is weighing the pros and cons of taking in a portion of the condominium complex that sits within the Town of Southampton.
Funsch said a discussion on accepting about 1.5 acres into the village's boundary commenced after it was realized that emergency services for the occupants of the condominium could be possibly be delayed because of potential confusion as to which jurisdiction each condo unit sits — Southampton Town or Southampton Village.
The village, Funsch said is working with the Town of Southampton on the annexation and several public hearings have already been held.
If approved, the annexation will result in a loss in tax dollars for the Town of Southampton.
Also on the agenda is a discussion on whether or not to grant the Village Latch Inn, located on Hill Street, a zone change.
According to Funsch, the Inn is currently zoned residential, but its current use has been grandfathered. Now, Funsch, said the inn's owners are looking to sell the business and would need a zone change to hotel to allow the business to continue to operate as an inn.
