1. BLUEGRASS & BBQ
Bluegrass & BBQ at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill on Friday, starting at 5 p.m, features the music of the Ebony Hillbillies and a special menu from the Cafe by Art of Eating. The cafe will serve classic barbecue fare, along with wine, beer, and a specialty cocktail. Communal tables will be set up, and music lovers are encouraged to bring beach chairs or blankets, as seating is limited. Free with Museum admission ($10, free for members, children, and students.
2. STONY BROOK SOUTHAMPTON FALL LECTURE SERIES
The Stony Brook University Southampton Fall Lecture Series begins Friday with Dr. Demian Chapman presenting a lecture, "Tracking the Oceanic Whitetip Shark: Apex Predator of the Great Blue Desert" at 7:30 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public.
3. HARBORFEST
The annual HarborFest celebration kicks off Friday and includes fun activities all weekend long, celebrating the village's maritime history. From whaleboat races to walking tours, HarborFest has something for everyone.
4. BEEBE WINDMILL OPEN HOUSE
Climb the Beebe Windmill in Bridgehampton, listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. Admission is free. The windmill is located on the southeast corner of Ocean Road and Hildreth Avenue.
5. SOUTHAMPTON DEMS BREAKFAST
The Southampton Democratic Committee will host a breakfast meeting on the "Latino Voter" with special guest New York State Assemblyman Phil Ramos on Saturday. The breakfast takes place at 230 Elm in Southampton at 10 a.m. Those attending must RSVP by Wednesday. Tickets: $20; $15 youth/students
