The kids of the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center of the Hamptons will remember the heroes of 9/11 at a gospel concert.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — September 11, 2016 is the 15th anniversary of 9/11 and the children of the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center of the Hamptons will join with the Howard University Gospel Choir to pay tribute at a special concert on Saturday at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons in Southampton.
“This is the 8th annual gospel concert and it is the first time it is being held at the Greek Orthodox Church,” Debra McEneaney, marketing and community advisor of the BHCCR, told Patch.
“The concert is being held on the weekend that’s the anniversary of 9/11 and we tell the kids at the Center it’s a weekend to always remember the heroes of 9/11,” she said.

The Center, which has been helping the children and families of Bridgehampton for over 60 years, is combining their annual gospel concert with the children paying tribute to the heroes of 9/11.
“The concert will be uplifting,” McEneaney said. “The kids will recite a poem and light 15 candles for the 15th anniversary. The poem was written by my husband’s brother Eamon McEneaney, who died on 9/11. He was an amazing lacrosse player, but also wrote poetry. One of his poems was chosen by the director of BHCCR as the one to be read by the kids at the concert.”
