Donald Trump Is Coming To The Hamptons

On July 9 he has a fundraiser at billionaire Wilbur Ross's Southampton estate.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — If you think traffic was crowded this weekend, the roads may be backed up even more when Donald Trump visits Southampton this Saturday.

Bloomberg Politics is reporting that Trump plans to be in town for a Trump and RNC fundraiser luncheon at billionaire Wilbur Ross’s multi-million dollar Southampton estate.

Tickets for the fundraiser start at $25,000 per person to $100,000 for a couple, who will be listed on the host community, according to the Bloomberg story, which also states Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus will be at the event with Trump.

Trump “is looking to project unity” among the party, the report says, as Pepe Fanjul, a patron of Marco Rubio, as well as Jeb Bush backers Duke Buchan III and his wife, Hannah, are part of the host committee, along with real estate developer Richard LeFrak and New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, who once supported Bush, but now endorses Trump.

Supporters are happy to hear that Trump will be paying a visit to the area. "I really think he should be spending his time in states that he has a chance to win in," said Southold Town Councilman and Republican Jim Dinizio. "But he's going to make America great again. So I'm happy there are enough people in the Hamptons to make it worth his time."

Not every Republican on the East End is a Trump supporter. Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell said he hasn't received an invitation to the fundraiser yet, but if he does he'd "put it in the shredder."
