Don't Miss It: a Watershed Event

Mark your calendars. The Southampton Sustainability Advisory Committee is set to hold its 3rd annual watershed event which aims to educate the public on issues facing the area's waterways.

The event will be held on Oct. 25 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Stony Brook Southampton’s Library Building on Montauk Highway in Southampton.

During the evening, five topics will be presented, including, a review of the Southampton 400+ Sustainability Overlay to the Town’s Master Plan presented by architect Bill Chaleff; an update on the Town’s storm water management program by Councilwoman Christine Scalera and Christine Fetten, the town’s director of municipal works; information on the new Long Island Clean Water Partnership presented by Bob DeLuca of the Group for the East End; a review of the health of our regional estuaries presented by Dr. Chris Gobler of Stony Brook University; and an introduction to alternative septic systems presented by architect Glynis Berry, director of Peconic Green Growth.
