Hamptons Boat Trailer Thief Nabbed: Police
The East Islip man stole a tandem axle "Load Rite" boat trailer, valued at more than $6,000, from a commercial lot, police say.
EAST QUOGUE, NY — A man was arrested and charged after stealing a boat trailer from an East Quogue business earlier in March, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, after an "intensive investigation" involving detectives and the community response unit, Christian M. Klemm, 29, of East Islip, was arrested. He stole a tandem axle "Load Rite" boat trailer, valued at more than $6,000, from a commercial lot on March 8, police said.
Klemm was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony, and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, police said. He was processed and held for morning arraignment in Southampton Justice Court.
