Hamptons Man Charged With DWI Crashed Into LIRR Crossing Gate: PD

The crash took place in Water Mill Saturday, police say.

WATER MILL, NY — A Water Mill man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into a Long Island Rail Road crossing gate Sunday afternoon, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at about 4:33 p.m. Officers responded to the Long Island Rail Road gate, located on Old Mill Road in Water Mill, after a report of a one-car crash, police said.

The driver, Pablo Rojas, 57, was found to be intoxicated; he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI, transported to police headquarters in Hampton Bays, processed, and held for morning arraignment, police said.
