Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump Vie For Backers In The Hamptons
The Democratic candidate has strong ties to the East End, but the Republican Presidential candidate also has deep-pocket Hampton supporters.

Clinton's fundraisers follow the high-profile event for GOP contender Trump that was, as Patch reported, held at the Southampton home of Wilbur Ross in July.

Prior to the fundraiser, Trump flew in on a private helicopter with his name splashed across the side.
And now it's Clinton's turn to garner some support on the East End.
According to the New York Post, an estate owned by Bill White and Bryan Eurie, known Democratic supporters, will be the site of a fundraiser for Clinton this month, around the time the family traditionally vacations out East. White and Eurie also hosted a fundraiser in New York City for President Barack Obama in 2014.

Another fundraising locale for Clinton will be the Bridgehampton estate of Jonathan Tisch, the Loews Hotels CEO and NY Giants co-owner. According to Page Six Tisch's throwing a $33,000 a head bash for Clinton that will be co-hosted by Bill Rudin.
Clinton isn't the only candidate with rich Hampton supporters.
Donald Trump has his own fans on the East End.
Showing that Clinton isn't the only candidate to get support from a New York football team owner, among the hosts at Trump's July fundraiser were New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, who has a massive estate in East Hampton.
Johnson tweeted his support for Trump on June 24: "Time to believe in America@realDonaldTrump"

Before the event at Ross's mansion, Trump's son Eric Trump tweeted: "Wilbur Ross: We need a tough negotiator like Trump to fix US trade policy"

Now, reports the New York Post, Johnson is hosting his own fundraiser for Trump at his East Hampton estate this month, with Kalikow, Howard Lober, and Anthony Scaramucci co-hosting the event, where tickets range from $10,000 to $25,000 per person.
Word is there will be other Clinton fundraisers popping up in the Hamptons, too — no surprise, because last August the Clintons attended at least four events for Hillary in one weekend while on vacation.
There's been no official word yet on whether the Clintons will once again be staying in the Amagansett waterfront home next door to major Clinton supporter Harvey Weinstein, which they rented the past two years for $50,000 a week.
But with Variety reporting that frequent Hamptons visitor Leonardo DiCaprio is hosting a Clinton fundraiser, billed as a "Conversation with Hillary" in Los Angeles on August 23, Clinton's schedule doesn't leave much free time for a vacation this year.
During their summer stays in past years, the Clintons received an outpouring of support.
The Hill reported last year that Susan and Alan Patricof threw a pancake breakfast fundraiser for Clinton, and designer Tory Burch hosted the Dem candidate for a luncheon at her Southhampton estate.
Later that same day, the Clintons attended a fundraiser at the home of Hilary Leff, and the next day former President Clinton was at another Hamptons fundraiser for his wife
Clinton also has support among some Hampton celebrities, including Sarah Jessica Parker, who threw a Clinton fundraiser in her New York City West Village townhouse. The stars turned to social media to voice their loyalty during the DNC
Bridgehampton’s Jennifer Lopez tweeted: “So moved! Herstory in the making tonight! @HillaryClinton #ImWithHer w/ my oh yeah #itsabouttogodown face #letsgetit”
Even Julianna Moore, who keeps a low profile when she’s in the Hamptons, tweeted: “"America is great because America is good." I fell in love with @HillaryClinton all over again.”

Not all the Hamptons support for Clinton or Trump comes from high profile fans. The Monogram Shop’s Presidential Cup Count, a fun tally that has customers weighing in on their vote for president via the cups they purchase, has Clinton surging ahead, after they were virtually tied earlier in the month.
As of Friday, the count was: Hillary 1662; Trump 1541.
