LI Police Officers Bring Smiles To Kids With 'Shop With A Cop' Event
The event, a beloved holiday favorite each year, is sponsored by Walmart stores.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A beloved annual holiday tradition continued Thursday as Southampton police officers brought smiles to the faces of children with their "Shop With A Cop" event, sponsored by Walmart.
Members of The Southampton Town Police Department, New York State Troopers, and the Southampton Town Police Explorers participated in the Riverhead event, which was filled with joy and holiday cheer.
"The event was an outstanding success," police said.

Officers shared dinner with the families before shopping at Walmart. Walmart in Riverhead provided a significant donation, as did the Southampton Town Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, and Southampton Town Superior Officer’s Association, police said.
"We especially want to thank Walmart and its employees, who were so welcoming and assisted us in this beautiful event," police said.
