Restauranteur’s Passion Is Southampton

Doing what he loves best made Zach Erdem's new venture, Kozu, an overnight sensation — with Southamptonite Jimmy Fallon dining at the eatery

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Zach Erdem’s dream of opening a new Asian restaurant in Southampton has come to fruition — and the results are sensational.

Kozu is the latest venture from Erdem, who also owns 75 Main, located on Main Street, and AM Southampton. Living in Southampton, he knows what his neighbors want —and it’s what he wants, too. “It’s all Southampton,” he says.

“I love this town,” Erdem tells Patch. “And I love Asian food. I used to go to some other places for Asian food and now no one needs to go anywhere else.”

One famous neighbor Jimmy Fallon was able to snag a table at the already hot Kozu, which specializes in modern Asian fusion cuisine. Fallon dined on sushi and sashimi with his wife, Nancy Juvonen, for a couple of hours on July 9.

Erdem, who says, “I would recommend everything on the menu. Everything is so good,” shares that Kozu’s most popular dishes are Kozu’s crispy rice, fluke carpaccio, candied cod, duck confit, grass-fed filet mignon and Kozu special rolls.
