- After years of happy face stickers and memories, it's the end of an era in Hampton Bays: The Boardy Barn has been sold. "To our beloved family, employees, customers, partners and community," the Boardy Barn Facebook page said. "Mickey Shields and Tony Galgano first opened the barn doors on April 16, 1970. From that day forward, the Boardy Barn became better and more unique the moment each of you passed through those doors. We are deeply grateful for the memories we hold in our hearts. It is true that we have sold the property located at 270 West Montauk Highway Hampton Bays, effective May 5, 2022. We wish the new owners all the best as they work to determine what the property will become." (Patch)
- The Parrish Art Museumβs annual "Spring Fling" community celebration, fundraiser, and networking event raised over $120,000 this year. For nearly three decades, the event raises over $100,000 annually for education programs, including Access Parrish, which offers learning experiences specifically designed for youth and adults with varied needs and abilities. - Police said a Quogue woman was told on a phone call that there was child pornography on her computer and that she had to purchase $10,000 in Home Depot gift cards to clear the device. The woman bought the cards from Home Depot in Riverhead and gave the card information over the phone on Feb. 15. Authorities said later that day, three people used the gift cards at Home Depot locations in Suffolk, Nassau, Queens and Kings counties. Anyone with information on the identity of the suspects should call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. (Subscription: Newsday)
