Here are the top stories today in Southampton:

1. According to Southampton Town Police, Edwin GonzalezParedes, 32, a Riverhead man, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he struck another vehicle in Riverside, police said. The incident took place on Country Road 105, Thursday night, at 10:11 p.m., police said. No injuries were reported, police said. (Southampton Patch)
2. "Go, Canes!" This week, the Westhampton Beach High School girls varsity lacrosse team "made history when they brought home the program's first Long Island championship win," Patch reported. Now they are off to compete for the New York State title in the semi-finals. (Patch)
3. The 154th Belmont Stakes returns Saturday, June 11. Gates opens at 9 a.m., the event will feature performances by DJ Pauly D, Sal "The Voice" Valentinetti and Black Tie Brass. Tickets start at $40; Belmont Park, Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont. (belmontstakes.com)
