Here are the top stories today in Southampton:

  1. According to Southampton Town police, at 12:44 a.m. Tuesday, police were alerted about a fire at a home located on Wildwood Trail. Upon arrival, the police were not able to open the door as the house was "engulfed in flames," authorities said. A man's body was discovered and was taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office for confirmation of identification, police said. (Patch)

Working from home has its benefits, instead of leaving the city on Fridays, the beach-hungry crowd now packs up for the weekend and drives out Thursday afternoon. “Thursday is the new Friday,’’ from Westhampton to Montauk, the crowds invade the Hamptons until late hours Sunday. And local businesses are loving it; they're making lots more money. (New York Post)
