  3. Robert M. Cueva-Calle, 28, an East Hampton man, was arrested and charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated with a suspended license on County Road 39 in Southampton, police said. Cueva-Calle was observed "speeding and failing to maintain his lane while heading east," police said. (Southampton Patch)
  4. William Petersohn, 30, of Mastic, pleaded guilty to charges he was driving under the influence of alcohol when he was behind the wheel of a car that caused a chain reaction crash, nearly killing a police officer. Officer Timothy Thrane spent weeks in a medically-induced coma while he recovered after emergency brain surgery. The sentence will likely be six months jail time and five years of probation, according to a Suffolk District Attorney spokeswoman. (Patch)
