Here are the top stories in Southampton today:

1. Friday, the Central Pine Barrens Commission, in partnership with the NYSDEC, started the first prescribed fire of the season within Sarnoff West Prescribed Fire Burn Unit as a way of reducing wildfire risk and increasing public safety. Expect to see brush fires at different times between now and May 31. (News 12 Long Island)
2. The Southampton Town website has improved its online services. Residents can now access a wide range of town applications, programs and services through a new online services tool! (Website)
3. Southampton School District announced a joint ceremony at Agawam Park in Southampton on Thursday, May 19, at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be held to honor high school seniors from the Hampton Bays, Southampton and Westhampton Beach school districts who have committed to entering the military upon graduation. The rain date is Wednesday, May 25. (Facebook)
4. Is your child musically inclined? If you answered yes, they you are in luck, the Long Island Music Hall of Fame, a nonprofit organization, is accepting applications for its 2022 Student Scholarship and Educator of Note programs.
