Venus Williams Hits The Hamptons

The tennis superstar helps raise money for charity before competing at Wimbledon and at the Olympics in Rio.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY – She’s one busy superstar, but Venus Williams takes time out to give back.

To celebrate the Summer Solstice this year on June 21, she joined fellow designers — you may not have known this, but aside from being one of the top female tennis players in the world Williams is also a very talented designer – at Hamptons Holiday House presented by HC&G.

Fittingly for her celeb standing, Williams’ interior design company, V*Starr Interiors, designed the lounge on the rooftop tennis court of this amazing $18 million showhouse in Watermill.

After touring the estate and speaking with several of her fellow showhouse designers, Williams declared the house the “best showhouse she had ever seen.”

Besides tennis and interior design, Williams also has her own ready-to-wear athletic clothing line, EleVen. And in the true spirit of giving back, Williams presented a Limited Edition dress she designed in USA Olympic Colors that she’ll wear when she represents the US in Rio at the Summer Olympics Games. The dress, in a limited edition of 500, comes framed, accompanied with a hand-written note from Williams, a gold pendant and certificate of authenticity and is being auctioned off onsite. Proceeds will contribute to the more than $1 million that Holiday House Hamptons has already raised for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

“I love design,” says Venus. ““It is a lot of work, but if I could, I would be involved in all kinds of design.”

Williams, who knows all about working hard, joined fellow Holiday House Hamptons designers, Holiday House Founder Iris Dankner and presenting sponsor HC&G’s Publisher Pamela Eldridge before heading off to Wimbledon and then to Rio.
